Thanks for the short writeups on these three shares. I own Macfarlane, and Eurocell is on my watchlist. Actually, I would probably have bought Eurocell already, except that I have a medium sized position in Topps Tiles, and conscious of going too overweight into RMI exposure.

The key worry for me with Macfarlane is whether there is excess packaging manufacturing capacity in Europe, and whether the European players, starved for growth, are trying to be more aggressive in the UK. Otherwise, I do rate Macfarlane management highly in running a good company, and think the current patchy run is just bad luck out of their control - market softness, and an unlucky incident at Pitreavie.

If interested in Packaging plays, I would also look at James Cropper (I hold). Beauty and Nutrition seems to be flying at the moment as a subsector in the UK, judging by other listed company announcements, as well as consumer surveys and spend reports from the likes of Barclays. This segment uses premium packaging, as well as bespoke + fragile packaging, more than other retail sectors. Which plays to James Cropper's strength.
